HOPKINGTON, MA: Presenting a Dr. Dave mini restoration of this very nice original-condition Bally Six Million Dollar Man. It just needed some TLC to make it look and play like new condition, but we made it better than it was. Better…faster….stronger. =)
We rebuilt the flipper assemblies, all 3 pop bumper assemblies, cleaned and repainted the drop targets, new white silicone rubber all around and red silicone rubbers adorning the new Bally flipper bats.
Wanting to keep within budget: some warm white LEDs under the kicker assembly plastics to give more light to the flipper area and regular incandescent everywhere else. Buffed the metal u-channel securing the top of the playfield glass for high gloss reflection of the artwork of the playfield. Added NVRAM to the original rebuilt Bally MPU, New 5 v caps to the solenoid driver board and new connectors where needed in the wiring harness as well as rebuilt the connectors on the power supply transformer board. Reflowed all header pins on the displays boards as well as all new 6 pack each to all 6 displays with new beefier 100K ohm resistors.
New upgraded software that makes the specials on this game = 50,000 points instead of winning a free game all while keeping Extra balls earned still = extra ball. This configuration does not come stock on most Bally games from this era and need a software code tweak to make this happen and make the game much more fairer scoring.
